Clifford Kit

Clifford is a beautiful knitted sweater design featuring two-colour Latvian braids, which are worked above the ribbed cuffs and hem. A smart stranded colourwork pattern decorates the yoke of this sweater, standing out crisply in white against the rich red background. This sweater is knit in our lustrous Cumbria yarn blend of Masham wool, Merino and mohair. Cumbria is a warm worsted-weight yarn with a palette of deep saturated shades, making this a cosy and stylish project choice for your handmade wardrobe.

The Fibre Co. Cumbria (60% Merino wool, 30% Masham wool, 10% mohair, 216 m (236 yd) per 100 g hank) in Appleby Castle (A) – 4 (5: 6: 6: 7: 7: 8: 8) hanks and Blencathra (B) – 1 hank.

Colours:

The photos show the pullover in shades Appleby Castle (Colour A) and Blencathra (Colour B). Choose Colour A from the first set of colour swatches above and Colour B from the second set of colour swatches.

Needles and notions required:

• 3.5mm (UK 10-9/US 4) circular needles, 40cm and 80cm long
• 4mm (UK 8/ US 6) circular needles, 40cm, 60cm and 80cm long, for yoke and body
• Set of 3.5mm (UK 10-9/US 4) double-pointed needles (DPNs), or your preferred needles for working small circumferences
• Set of 4mm (UK 8/US 6) DPNs, or your preferred needles for working small circumferences
• Stitch markers
• Stitch holders

Note: Circular needle sizes are given in different lengths for working the yoke, body and hem. If preferred, when working smaller circumferences you can use the Magic Loop method, or double-pointed needles.

Techniques used:

• Latvian braid (around the cuffs and hem)
• Stranded colourwork yoke
