There is a saying that the simple things in life are the best and this stole/scarf/blanket is as simple to knit as possible! This is a bias knit stole/scarf inspired by The Fibre Co. Cirro and the cloudwatching that the designer used to do with her children; the seeing shapes and animals in the clouds (that she admits to not having grown out of). The pattern is incredibly adaptable and can be adjusted to make a narrower scarf, a wider stole or be made even wider for a blanket! Bands of simple lace are interspersed with stripes of stocking stitch that effortlessly lead into the next lace section.

Cloudwatching makes for perfect TV/sociable knitting. It is worked on 4.5mm needles and is straight forward enough to take to knit group, chat whilst knitting and there is no need for stitch markers! The Fibre Co. Cirro is a sumptuous alpaca/cotton/merino blend that creates fabric that are warm yet light. It is a dream to knit with and comes in a fabulous array of colours. Your new stole will be wonderfully toasty as a spring or autumn wrap and scrunched up for a cosy winter warmer – Cloudwatching will become an indispensable accessory.

Kit contains:

• 2 hanks of Col A and 2 hanks of Col B of The Fibre Co. Cirro (40% Suri alpaca, 40% organic cotton, 20% Merino wool, 225 m (246 yd) per 50 g hank)
• Project Bag from The Fibre Co.

The photos show the shawl in the shades Seraphic & Pure, and Seraphic & Divine. Choose from the shades of Cirro as shown above.

You will also need:

• 1 pair 4.5mm (US 7) long circular needles
• 1 pair 5.5mm (US 9) needles to cast off
