About Kindness

Kindness is a beautiful lacy triangular shawl designed by Boo Knits as the fourth and last shawl in the Heartfelt Collection, along with Larksmeadow, Cloudwatching and Homebody.

From the designer:
‘I love the word ‘kindness’. It conjures up all sorts of thoughts; some people are just intrinsically kind, some people make a conscious effort to be kind whilst others just seem to struggle with the entire concept. On the whole, I think that everyone has the capacity for huge kindness and what a world it would be if everyone practised kindness, not just on a daily basis but for every moment of every day. I was reminded of the film ‘Pay it Forward’ recently when a friend of mine mentioned she would pay a kindness forward and she did. The person she paid it forward to then followed suit; I would love to think that the thread continues.

Kindness seems the perfect title for this lovely shawl; knit in Amble by The Fibre Co. it is soft as a kitten and light as a feather. Kindness is the perfect thing to wrap yourself in, surround yourself with, and spend some time creating, in every sense.

This top-down, wide triangular shawl with bands of garter stitch between patterned panels has been designed to be worked in Amble by The Fibre Co. Amble is a fingering weight, merino/alpaca mix with the addition of recycled nylon to add strength and durability whilst still being kind to our planet (see, kindness really is everywhere!).’

Kit Contains:

• 3 hanks of The Fibre Co. Amble (70% Easy-wash Merino wool, 20% Easy-wash alpaca, 10% recycled nylon, 325 m (355 yd) per 100 g hank) 
• Free Project Bag from The Fibre Co.

Colours:

The photos show the shawl in the shade Exodus (blue) and Appleby Castle (red). Choose from any shade of Amble as shown above.

Sizes:

One size

83” (211cm) wide, 26.5” (67cm) deep before blocking and 89” (226cm) wide, 34” (86cm) deep after.

You will also need:

• 3.75mm (US5) needles are used throughout
• 4.5mm (US 7) are used for the bind off (minimum 1m in length for the main needles) or needles to create a pleasing fabric – your fabric should not be too dense and should have good drape.
• Stitch markers (with a pair of different ones to marker the centre stitch)
• Blocking pins and mats
• Darning needle
